AP The Honey Prairie fire was one of three that burned nearly 340000 acres in and near the Okefenokee Swamp in southeast Georgia last year. The was wildfire started by lightning and it was still smoldering and sputtering six months after it started.

Okefenokee Swamp Cruise - Sit Back and Relax!

This video was shot during the winter in the Okefenokee Swamp in southern Georgia on a boat ride into the canals and waterways of the swamp. Notice that some of the vegetation has been scorched by wildfires. The guide mentioned that there are thought to be more than 2500 alligators, as well as big cats, poisonous snakes, and bears throughout the preserve.
